Indoor & Outdoor Rowing for Visually Impaired Persons (VIPs)
The RILSF is sponsoring an Indoor and Outdoor Rowing Program for the legally
blind adults (17+yrs) of Rhode Island. We are fortunate to be able to partner with
the Narragansett Rowing Club who provides the facilities, equipment and training at
their boathouse on the Seekonk River in Providence.
Our goal is to provide and enjoyable fitness-based activity for those VIP’s that
would like to get out of the house, get some exercise and make new friends.
During the colder months, or inclement weather, the classes are held indoors on
Concept II rowing machines. When weather allows, the classes will be held using
adaptive boats on the river.
Classes are currently being held on Saturdays from 9:30-10:30AM.
If needed, RIDE vouchers are available if needed.
