2025 Glasses Collection Night

 On May 15, 2025,  Lions from various Rhode Island Lions Cubs,  packed about  27,000 pairs of eyeglasses to be sent to the New Jersey Lions Eye Glass Recycling Center. The event was again held at the Sunnyside Restaurant. About 50 boxes were filled and the Sunnyside Restaurant arranged shipping pickup for the RILSF.

At the New Jersey Lions Eye Glass Recycling Center the eyeglass lens powers are measured and then the eyeglasses are catalogued by lens power. These sort eyeglasses  can then be shipped to missions that provide eyecare for communities around the world that do not have good eye care. 

Thank you to the Sunnyside Restaurant for letting the RILSF use their space for this event and their help with the shipping.
