Eye Exams and Eye Glasses
The RI Lions Sight Foundation has a program to provide eye examinations and eyeglasses at no charge to adults and children who are not covered by medical insurance.
This program works with Envisions Eye Care in West Warwick to provide eye exams. CPS Optix, Inc., will provide eye glasses for those adults and children with no means to pay out of pocket.
This program is made available through a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation.
For children and students living in RI
Every child in Rhode Island has the opportunity to have medical insurance coverage at no cost to the family. This includes Vision Care.
The insurance is offered through Neighborhood Health Care, Rite Care, and Medicaid. Parents can call the Eligibility Line (401-459-6000) to confirm benefits. Children and students are even eligible for a new pair of glasses if theirs are lost or damaged.
Parents should contact their health care provider, confirm their child's coverage, and make an appointment with an eye care professional to see the child.
If for some reason the vision needs of the child are not covered by this insurance, contact the RI Lions Sight Foundation for assistance using the form below.
How to use this RI Lions Sight Foundation Program

Make sure you or your child does not have medical insurance which includes vision care. If not, fill out the Eye Glasses/Exam Assistance Request Form below and click the Submit button.

Your information will be reviewed and then you will be contacted by a RILSF member.

Once approved, you will be instructed to go to the following location:

Note: If you do not speak English and will need translation services to set up the appointment, to take the eye exam, and to get fitted for glasses, please indicate you will need translation services (Spanish to English) in the form below.
Note: Since this is a service for persons that do not have insurance covering eye examinations or glasses, the frames you can choose from are not designer frames.
