The Rhode Island Lions Sight Foundation (RILSF) provides assistance to visually impaired persons  in our Rhode Island communities.
The RILSF is composed of representatives from Lions clubs around Rhode Island. The assistance we provide can be financial, material, social and developmental.
 
The Rhode Island Lions Sight Foundation was founded in 1961 as a charitable arm of the Lions Clubs International, District 42.
 
The Rhode Island Lions Sight Foundation is a 501 C-3 non-profit organization.
2023 National Fishing Tournament 
(October 16-18, 2023)
The  trip to the National VIP Fishing Tournament on the Outer Banks of NC was very successful. 

This year’s team included: Randy LaFountain (EP), Ray Gonsalves (Cranston), Derek Camile (EP) and Joe Bonardi (MA) (Joe is also a RI VIC Club Lion).

There was a three way tie for 1st place.  Derek and Randy both came home with 1 st Place Trophies!

Summer Camp Mauchatea 2023 was a great success!  25 campers enjoyed many activities including an amusement park, sports, swimming, dancing, and a reptile show!  A huge thank you to the RILSF for always supporting our blind and visually impaired youth!

Another successful VIP fishing tournament with a nearly full boat with 65
onboard, including 30 VIP’s, who managed to catch 58 fish.
Trophies and Visa gift cards were awarded to:
1st: $50 (22 pts/7 fish) – Randy LaFountain, E Providence
2nd: $25 (20 pts/6 fish) – Joe Bonardi, Worcester MA
3rd: $25 (18pts/7 fish) – Mike Prusco, No. Smithfield
Congratulations to all and we now look forward to finalizing plans for the NC Lions National VIP tournament in October on the Outer Banks!
RILSF vision screeners at a RI school
The RILSF and local RI Lions clubs have helped with vision pre-screening of preschool, elementary, middle (7th grade),  and high school students (9th grade) through out RI. 

Over 22,000 students at over 95
schools in RI were screened  this school year.

Winter Camp Mauchatea was held January 14-16, 2023.  This year we started at USA Skates and had an amazing time, skating, playing arcade games and eating pizza.  We then headed to the Cape Codder Resort in Cape Cod!  All the campers had a blast with swimming, water slides, games and movies.  Campers ended the weekend at EP Bowling lanes.  They can't wait for summer camp!!!
2022 National VIP Fishing Tournament
The National VIP Fishing Tournament  was held on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in October.

The RI team with the three RI participants together with their guides drove down to North Carolina  together with the Connecticut team in a comfortable bus. 

As part of the national tournament, the North Eastern Fishing Tournament was also held (with representatives from RI, CT, and NY). Janice Musco of RI took first place.

The RI Lions Sight Foundation is a 501 C-3 non-profit dedicated to helping visually impaired people living in RI

The RI Lions Sight Foundation accepts donations to support our programs for helping visually impaired persons in Rhode Island. Funds collected support the camps we run for visually impaired children as well as providing eye exams and glasses to those who need financial help, recreational programs like the fishing tournament and rowing program,  and helping perform vision screening in RI schools.
